Why does my 2005 chevy aveo starts then shuts down?

Sometimes when I start my 2005 chevy aveo, it starts, but soon idles down and shuts off. What may be the problem? It was running just fine and now this happens. No engine lights or oil lights are on, so what may it be, I hear the fuel pump pumping so I don't think it's that.. Please help

stop putting 5 bucks gas in it! any time u hear the fuel pump its running on fumes. and sucking the shite from the bottom of the tank

I hope you have checked this, but that can happen a lot when your gas tank is next to empty. Considering that's not the problem though, you might want to think about checking your injectors. It could be pricy replacing them but depending on how much the car has been run in it's life thanyour injectors could be clogged. Couldn't tell you though unless I saw it
