Alright, I have NO car audio experience whatsoever. I simply know about guitar amps, and nothing else. So I know I'm about to sound like a moron.
I drive the colorado desribed above, and I'm currently shopping for the best options for a stereo upgrade. In order to get a subwoofer, I need to either install it underneath the back bench, or right behind the centre console. I found a great option for the bench box - http://www.soundoffaudio.com/item.cfm/id/2177 and now I need to choose a sub (the unit fits two 8 inch woofers). At the moment, all of my gear is factory. Both 6-3/4" speakers as well as the mini tweeters in front, plus the factory piece of crap CD receiver. I'm assuming the head is RCA inputs. For my truck, will I need to purchase an amplifier in order to use the two subs? Eventually everything will be replaced, but I'm not sure which to replace first - the deck, speakers, or get the subs installed. The deck will need to be replaced with the custom piece for the GM models post year 2000.
