I would assume that it would.
What you need to do is determine what the trailer weighs, then find out what the GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating) of the Tahoe is.
Most trailers that short are under 6000lbs. An easy way to get an estimate of the trailer weight is to look on the sticker for the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating). The sticker will be located on the Tongue, frame, or the front corner of the box. It will be the same sticker as the tire pressures. This number is the maximum weight that the trailer can be when loaded (including water, clothes, food, ect).
I'm going to guess that your Tahoe's GCWR is somewhere around 12000lbs. This means that the total weight of the Tahoe and trailer must not exceed 12000lbs. Look in your owner's manual for GCWR listings, as they vary depending on motor and axle ratio.
Some approx weights would be that the Tahoe weighs 6000lbs, the GCWR is 12K, so your trailer can weigh up to 6000lbs.
It is a little more in depth than that, and do not take my numbers to court, but I have a half-ton truck, and your Tahoe is a half-ton rated vehicle so the numbers will be similar.
