View Full Version : Does anyone know what color wires go to what lights for a 2007 Chevy
Equinox trailer wire harness? I bought a splice type wire hit for a 2007 chevy equinox but I cannot find out what color wires to go what lights on the vehicle. If anyone has this information I would appreciate it. Thanks.
The harness I got from Uhaul doesn't have a connector, its a splice type.
I should have bought one with the connector but I didn't want to shell out $70 at the local auto parts store when a spice type was on $15.

use the car battery and try connecting the black wire to ground and then connect each wire of the trailor to positive, one at a time and see what lights up. Mark each wire as you do it, then connect to the car lights.

You do realize that there is a special connector under the truck for just that purpose.
The adapter just plugs in.......
No cutting, splicing, taping or anything.
Manufacturer: Curt Manufacturing
Part Number: 56012
Need trailer wiring? These plug-and-go wiring harnesses are the way to go. They're specifically designed for your vehicle and do not require splicing into your vehicle's wiring. The harness is designed with the wiring, connectors, and circuitry needed to adapt your vehicle's electrical system for trailer compatibility. All wiring harnesses include detailed installation instructions.
Oh, by the way, any good auto parts store will have one.
