Which one is better: A Chevy Tahoe or a Mitsubishi Montero?

I'm in the process of buying a new SUV and was wondering which one should I go with. My 99 Explorer died on me (in the most horrific of fashions) and I've narrowed my choices down to these two vehicles. If anyone owns either one of these two your input will be greatly appreciated. Or if anyone has had any experience with either one of these vehicles. Thanks.

Chevy Tahoe is the better....But, have you considered the Ford Escape or Edge?

My best budd had Chevy Tahoe. It is a great truck. But it still uses a lot of gas (12 mpg locally if he is lucky). They are strong like a ox.

The truck does suffer from intake manifold gasket failure (seems to be a common problem) and dirty gas filter (both we replace - ourselves).

But other than that, the truck has been problem free since 1999.

He also pulls a small trailer with 2 ATV from NYC to Penn all the time. So its got lots of pull.

The newer Tahoe's are nice gas mileage is better than the older ones. You should get around 14 mpg in the city and 20 on the highway. The 2007 models have the 5 year 100000 mile power train warranties and if you buy a certified GM Tahoe you can get the same warranty.
