I put my key in the ignition and the key will not turn at all, no movement. When the key is out of the ignition the steering wheel turns as if the key is in there still. (I know the steering wheel is supposed to be locked when the key is not in the ignition).
Before this, after I would get done driving, I was having trouble getting the key out of the ignition switch. I could turn off the Trailblazer, but something wouldn't let the key come out of the ignition. If I jiggled the shifter stick really light and quick I would hear I little pop or snap and after that happened I could get my key out just like normal. It seems my problem has gotten a bit worse, now I can't drive my Trailblazer. So that's my dilemma. I walked into an honest guy's mechanic shop (been doing business with him for years) and he said it sounds like the brake switch needs to be replaced, which is under the dashboard.
I'm asking this in hopes that a smart mechanic or somebody who has experienced the same problem with their Trailblazer can give me a second opinion or other ideas or tell me how you fix a brake switch.
Thanks for your help oh wise ones!!
