My Tahoe's A/C switch started becoming temperamental. Would sometimes switch on, sometimes not, until it eventually quit. A/C works fine though, blows cold right away (as in the rear A/C.) I figured this would be a simple fix, just a loose wire or new nob. Of course, it never is. My mechanic quoted it as $600 with parts and labor for a new one, called me earlier to say he could order a used part and the total would be $350. This part is an entire new circuit board for the front A/C panel that it apparently needs (a part that 'normally doesn't go bad')
Right now I have the A/C stuck in high, so it's just always on. Not too much of a problem cuz i live in Florida. Any one have any experience with this?
To the first answerer, yeah, EVERYTHING else is in working order. Buttons work, fans, fan direction. the ONLY thing out of whack is the actual nob that controls the intensity. sounds like i'm getting taken for a ride, and i don't want to spend that much money on something i can probably do with a six pack and soldering gun lol
