The thermostat on my rear view mirror won't work. I have a 2001 Chevy suburban....

...It shows the direction only.? Hi all, my vehicles rear view mirror won't show the temperature that it is outside. All it says is OC where the temp should be. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix it. My manual says to take it to a dealership but I don't want to take it to my local dealership because I ain't got the money and a new mirror runs about $400. If anyone has any ideas that I can try I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

It might not be the mirror, in fact it is more than likely the sensor that feeds it the info, it sounds like the mirror works if it displays compass. Should not be 400 by any means, maybe 100.
