Hey guys, I am looking to buy an 07 Chevy Cobalt. The dealer tells me that it has the factory 5yr/100000 mile warranty. But I also talked to a family friend who is a dealer and he says it is only for the 1st owner. I am about to go to college 200 miles away from home, so this is a big issue for me. Any help is much appreciated!!! thanks :)

some warranties are transferable. i think chevy has a transferable one as long as you get the 1st owner to sign it off to you. chevy also has warranties you can get on a car with under 100000 miles. also there are websites and other companies that give car warranties. you will have to pay but a 2007 should be cheap since it cant have too many miles on it

why don't you just invest in a 08 or 09 model, your going to pay just as much for a used one if you go for a new one, might as well by a new one. They are giving out better deals for new cars and trucks. And most of the time when you buy a older one your going to have to pay interest on it and either make payments on it for 3 to 5 yrs. unless you pay all cash. Your best bet is to buy a brand new one if you have the money for it and can afford it right now. Look around you can wheel and deal with them now.
