I would go with the Aveo, it's lighter and cheaper to buy parts for.

Nissan in a minute. Chevy is awful and you will be disappointed.
I have a Nissan and Hyundi. I had a Chevy Blazer in 1996 what a piece of crap and it fell apart. I have never been disapoointed with a Nissan, Toytoa. And at resale time you get some money back. The Blazer was a losing porposition.
