the radio from the dash without? messing anything up and if I disconnect the antenna from the back of the radio will my tuner still receive the signal from my Belkin ipod hook up for my car stereo which transmits a signal to the radio, it just does a really lousy job of it with any other incoming signals

Your dash-radio panels covering your radio should just pop out. You may have to take out some screws from the panel under your steering wheel above your thighs while your sitting in the driver seat. Also the glove compartment may have a screw or two to take out before the radio panel will pull out with some good tugs. If you connect to the belkin using a radio station yes you will loose signal. Those don't do a good job.
