It's a 1986 Chevy Nova, he's parked it outside of his house for a year at least. Has around 100,000 miles on it, and needs new battery and maybe some little engine work. He's asking for $400 but that seems high for me. Is it just me? I think $325 would be good. Am I wrong?

Well, here's the catch.
You think it's high. And you think 325 would be good.
That's great.
You're not the one selling it.
Say you've got something worth $400 to you, and I offer you $325.....how likely are you to drop 20% off your asking price, just because I don't agree?
Unless he's listed it as OBO, he wants $400 for it. That's what it's worth to him. You could always go elsewhere.

only buy that if you have another 1000 to repair it. that gay body style nova is a headache beginning to bitter end.

Its worth practically nothing. offer $100.
Depends on how much engine work is needed. This is a Toyota Corolla with Chevy badges, so if you get it fixed and running, it will last for many years. BUY it if the body is in good shape.
I owned one of these for many years, and am still kicking myself for letting it go.
