Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know that the car lot fixed the problems with the Equinox so all is good for now. My wife wanted to know what the horn sounded like last night, so I hit the button. No sound. I thought maybe it was a blown fuse. Imagine my surprise this morning when I checked fuse #13 and discovered an empty slot. I popped the extra 10 amp fuse from the box in there and now the wife has a working horn. I just wonder if they removed the fuse for some reason when they were tracing a short. The tech can't be too sharp, because after replacing the window switch and ordering another motor, he popped the door panel off and found a broken wire. I'm not a tech, but the first things I check when something electrical doesn't work is a blown fuse and then the wiring. Geez!!

Being in repair (not autos) I often have to fight "taking teh easy route" and order new when what it needs is real troubleshooting. Gotta say though the goods ones don't do it often.

You are so right about that Rick. A lot of places just want to start shot gunning parts and run up a sky high bill.
