Just took delivery of a 2011 LTZ with the 4 cyl engine. I really enjoy the vehicle, but it seems to wait too long to downshift at low speed..it has the same jerking feeling that you would get if you had a manual transmission and tried to go 10 mph in 5th gear. It only has 1000 miles on it and does this intermittently. The dealer checked it out, found nothing wrong and said NOT to run it in "ECO" mode...this is where it makes a few adjustments (including shift pattern) to get even better mileage. Has anyone else had this happen? It seems strange that they would create a setting to get better mileage and then tell you to turn if off because the vehicle doesnt operate properly. Am I the only one with this problem?

If you read the owners manual (or re-read) they talk about the ECO setting. I do not have my OM here with me now -- but they discuss how differently the car may react. If I recall some of the things you mention may be in the manual. In teh couple of days I have had my LT2Nox - I find that with ECO on -- don't even attempt a jackrabbit start, there WILL be a hesitation. It tends to delay or advance gear shifts to maximize gas mileage and even shuts fuel off at optimum speeds to save more. You have to drive the car a bit more "carefully" but I was averaging 32 MPG going just 45 mph on suburban roads.... Car barely had 100 miles on it... If you don't care about getting great milage -- shut ECO off if road or driving conditions demad it.

I just traded my 10 nox LS in for an 11 LT2. I drove my first nox in eco mode with no problems. The new one has no problems in eco mode. My 2010 would get 30 to 32 MPG on the interstate at 70 mph and about 23 around town. I haven't had a chance to check the new one yet as it was just purchased last week.
