2003 Chevy cavalier stalling?

My cavalier sometimes stalls while driving--the RPMs just go down all the way, and it stalls. I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it going. This has been happening since about 3 months after I bought it new. It is a 5 speed transmission. If I turn off the car and let it sit for at least about 5 minutes, then it is fine. It does this about once every 6 months to a year. I brought it in while it was still under warranty, and they said they reprogrammed it--said the car was forgetting where it was on the RPMs. Other times they could not duplicate the problem.
Has anyone else had this problem?

i had this problem on my 01.i let it go,putting up with all it's crap till finally it just quit.i got a code reader and cleared the codes,then it ran fine for about a mile and did it again.so this time i actually read the codes and it ended up being the TPS.i strongly believe thats whats goin on with you.
