Chevy HHR Bluetooth/Handsfree?

I recently purchased a 2009 Chevy HHR 2LT. The owners manual says that it comes standard with bluetooth capabilities, and the steering wheel has the special handsfree button on it. However, when I attempt to pair by holding the button for 2 seconds (as the manual instructs me to do) it does not give me a tone or any options; it simply mutes the car's audio.

If anyone could offer advice/insight on this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend taking the vehicle to your dealer of choice. One of the sales staff should be able to assist you in paring your phone. Please keep me updated on your concerns.
