View Full Version : Why does my Chevy Equinox accelerate loudly in the rain and through puddles?

It is a 2005 Chevy Equinox and accelerates smoothly any other time. If the roads are very wet, snowy/slushy, or if it is raining hard, the acceleration sounds more like a go-cart. It does not affect speed or handling, but it is very loud and makes the car vibrate like a go-cart. It does not make the noise if I am not pressing on the accelerator. Obviously something is getting wet, but what?
The noise/vibration is coming from the engine area and while the car will still accelerate, it does so more slowly. Also this has been happening since I purchased it, with brand new tires on the vehicle. Thanks!
