What is wrong with my 2004 Chevy Aveo's AC?

In the recent months my aveo's A/C has been acting a little odd - turning off randomly, turning back on when I hit a bump in the road, etc. Now, when I start my car and turn on the A/C, nothing happens. If I keep it switched on for the majority of my ride to work it usually turns on about 15 minutes into the commute...what is going on! And how much is this going to cost me to fix?

sounds like a loose wire somewhere. no normal AC problem is bump/vibration sensitive.

loose connections can be time sensitive. flowing electricity through a poor connection creates heat which causes things to expand, and can cause the circuit to open.

with everything on, wiggle all the wires you can get too and see if anythign happens.
