chevrolet avalanche 2 wheel drive does that means it wont climb a steep hill?

compare to the avalanche 4 wheel drive, what i really mean is what is the difference between 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive

2 wheel drive has power to the rear wheels only. 4 wheel drive has power to the rear wheels and you can engage the front wheels also. 4 wheel drive creates more traction, improved climbing ability and pulling power.
