With the middle class shrinking in America (I am one of the millions who have seen their financial fortunes decline), who do they think is going to buy the Chevy Volt, priced at $41,000?

There is a $7500 tax credit which brings it down to $33,500 which is only $3000 more than what people are paying for a new Toyota Prius.
****EDIT****
Attenition "No" In reference to you saying that the battery on the Volt costs $3500 that is true, but that is half the price than the hybrid battery pack that is in any Hybrid currently in existance and that does not seem to be slowing sales of those cars down.

another GM /american blunder.
The problem is that the US is not a market driven country, The US is an engineering driven country
like ford said," you can have any color you want so long as it is black"
India produces a car that sells for US $2,500.00
that is what GM needs to do
Build a simple basic no frills car for $2,500.00 .not $41,000
