i need to convert my 04 chevy colorado extended cab to 4wd?

buying a 4wd truck is not an option. i am a decent welder. and my welding class at school has a project we all have to do. i was thinking this could be mine. what all do i need and what all should i do? thanks
it would be through my school. we got a good automotive and welder teacher. and the school would take care of the finances. oh and i asked my parents wont let me get a new truck

its a lot of work you need to find a wrecked Colorado the wire harness is all set up for it other than that its nightmare you have to change the transmission rear out put shaft the transfer case the drive shafts are shorter I have a friend who's good at welding he took a Chevy one ton frame cut it in half put a s-10 body on it with 44 super swampers with a 427 cu so I dont know wish you luck

its probly not a good idea. If you realy wanted 4wd then you should buy a 4wd truck. making it into a 4wd would require a transfer case, wheel locks, a couple of axles, a modified transmission, a lot more minor things, and a whole lot of time. Its not worth it

You are nuts to even attempt this. There's a lot more than welding
You would be better of finding a wrecked colorado 4x4
That has a good frame and running gear and bolt your body and
box too it.
