2006 chevy aveo wont accelerate when i press the gas nothing happens at all?

check engine light has been coming on and off for a couple of months, gas is full, the other day i noticed the light inside was kind of flickering

I would suggest you to check the wiring of the car.Some time its happen that it gets loose and give problems.If still the problem is there then let me know.
