I have a 1997 chevy cavalier and its running hot ?

but its only running hot while im driving it. I didt let it get all the way hot. the heater core busted and i took it out. and blocked the lines. but ow its still being weird. please help me.
yes the fan is working . and it doesnt have a thermostat in it. it has a overflo. i cant access the radiator. how can i check if the pump is working?

did you change the thermostat? how about the fan, is it working?

well if you blocked the lines like i think then there is no circulation going to the block get a new heater core and chenge the thermostate
