The AC/heater unit will not shut off in my 2003 chevy tahoe. I turned the knob in the off position and even turned off the truck, but it still on.

that first answer is absolutely incorrect! DO NOT REPLACE YOUR HEATER CONTROL!!! The heater control does not have the ability to turn on the blower when the key is off, so there is no way it can be a bad heater control switch. I have seen this problem before and I can tell you with 100% certainty that it is the blower motor control module (I assume you have automatic climate control with a digital display). The module is relatively inexpensive and not hard at all to change. It is located under the right side of the dash, right beside the blower motor and it actually plugs into the blower motor. Call your dealer with your VIN number and tell them you need a blower control module. (They may refer to it as a "blower motor resistor"). There are only 2 small screws holding it into the bottom of the HVAC case, anyone with a little ability can change it in under 30 minutes.

You have a bad fan control switch in the dash, the only fix is to replace it. You will have to get the switch from the dealer and if you have taken a dash panel out before this should be an easy repair.

resistor for the blower motor. go to the junk yard and find the same or compatible tahoe and grab that one off of the hvac unit. costs alot cheaper than what a dealer will rape you for
