2008 Chevy Aveo Struts are leaking.?

The guy who changed the oil said only a dealer could replace them. Is this true? If so, why? And does anyone have an estimate of how much this should cost?
Its actually a 2007 and has over 50,000 miles - past warranty. (My other car is a 2008).

It's only two years old, I doubt they are bad. he may have been BSing you. Never listen to anyone that works at a quick lube place.

I don't see why any mechanic couldn't change them. It will probably cost between $300 and $500 per pair.

In my opinion it is best to change the oil from the dealer.It will be authentic.It would cost around $400.
