it's the belt that controls everything?-also they said my pulley is loose and I have an extended warranty will that cover it?
Im past my factory warranty

is it the timing chain tensioner? or a drive belt tensiorer? If it is the timing chain tensior it should be covered by your Chevy Factory powertrain warranty- find out how many years/miles it covers. If its the drive belt tensioner it will not be covered under the powertrain warranty. As for an extended warranty some cover a lot- some are ripoffs. Call your extended warranty company and ask if they cover either of those- they wont cover the drive belt, but they may cover the tensior and they should cover the timing chain and tensior. You will probably have a deductible. good luck

look up parts price on advance auto...[or zone ,o'reillys] tensioner may be dealer only[or not]...i figure 75 to 100 with labor
