04'Chevy Colorado Manual?

I have a 04 Chevy Colorado with a manual transmission and there are times when I shift to neutral to come to a stop and the RPM's drop down below 500 and the truck shutters, but then pops back up to 700-800RPMs. I'm not sure what the problem might be up for any suggestions so that I can fix it.

Check the air intake and air filter. If clean - check for the hissing of a vacuum leak ... if nothing is heard use carb Cleaner and spray air lines. You will find the leak if the motor surges.

The truck is stalling and the computer is adjusting to the reduced (or increased) air flow).
