I took my car in to AMCCO and they said that I needed to rebuilt the transmission. He said that the tork converter was waddling. If that was the case I think I would feel that. The odd thing is that it doesn't do it all the time. He wants to charge 3k to do the whole thing. Since it doesn't do it all the time what could it be. I just had the exhaust manifold replace. Another shop said they would do it for 2300. I;m getting taken for a fool here or are they telling me the truth. A personal friend who is a mechanic said he doesn't think that is the case. His shop is really expensive and would cost more than 3k to do it at his place. Any professionals out there I would appreciate some advice.
The shop who did an oil change said that it could be the converter as well. What to do?

It could be that your valves might need to be adjusted but,you should be able to hear that coming from your engine when you have the hood popped up or it could be a loose bolt/nut somewhere underneath...not too familiar with Trail blazers.
