View Full Version : Why won't my 2005 Chevy Tahoe, Southern Comfort Ed, start with a good battery?

I have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe that won't start. When I turn the key over to Aux., everything turns on; radio, lights, dvd, gauges, everything. However when I try to turn it over, it just clicks and everything shuts off. I checked and all cables are on tight. Just to be sure I replaced the battery and the bolt connectors with no success. If I try to jump the Tahoe while the cables are connected to the battery, nothing happens. But if I disconnect the positive cable from the battery and hook the jumper cable directly up to it, it fires right up. I'm completely stumped!

Well my Expedition did the same thing, and what I did was take out every fuse 1 by one, and put them back in as you take them off.(take it off and then put it back in) and well it started.

Sounds like you have a cell in the battery shorting out when under a heavy load. You can take it to a AutoZone, they will do a load test on the battery for free.
