2008 Chevy Malibu, Key gets stuck in ignition?

After about 6 months and 7000 miles, when I turn the car off, the key has been getting stuck in the ignition, and I can't take it out. I often have to turn the car on and off again. I think it has something to do with the car not sensing the car is in park (loose handle?). Is this a known issue?

I thought it was the wheel lock as in other chevy's, but it wasn't.

That is what dealers and warranties are for. Take it in and they will fix it free! Peace.

Take it back to the dealer. Also, check GM/Chevrolet to see if there have been any recalls or maintenance advisories. You shouldn't have this problem with a new car unless your key ring has an excessive amount of weight on it. The only time I faced this problem was with a girlfriends car, but it was 12 years old and her key ring weighed almost 2 pounds. We ended up replacing the ignition lock-switch.
