I did a search and couldn't seem to find anything. I just purchased an 05 equinox awd ls and today we had a good snow storm and got stuck in a small drift it would make this harsh grinding noise from mid to rear of the vehicle underneath and didn't seem like the rear tires would spin at all or if they did it was at high rpms. It sounded quite bad. I have heard this sound in the past slightly thinking it was traction control but there is no turn off button for traction control so I think something is majorly wrong and I am 6 hrs from where we live for christmas. So any ideas on what this might be would be great. I was wondering if a bad front axle would cause this sound in the rear or throw the whole system off. Help please.
