someone must have this problem with their chevrolet Equinox??

When it snows, the traction control keeps coming on, but it makes me slide more on the road, so I have to keep shutting it off. Can anyone explain what is going on here?

The traction control system is designed to help prevent wheel spin. However in the snow you get a lot of wheel spin and the system tries to over compensate. I was always told to turn the system off in snow but to leave it on in mud and rain.
