I'd love to get a Chevy Chevelle once I get my permit (I'm 15, so I'll be able to get the permit in 1 year). I have my eye on a Chevelle, but I would love it if someone could provide me with MPG info? If it's a small number, then is there any way to increase the MPG?
Thanks in advance!
Yeah, yeah. I know it's a classic american muscle car, but that's not my criterion in getting a car. I'm honestly no grease monkey, unfortunately.
My criteria:
Looks Good
Not insanely expensive
Enough Miles per gallon that I don't feel guilty every time i think about polar bears and melting snow caps.
Besides..all the cars my peers are getting are so boring. All the cars today look the same. I've yet to meet anyone with a nice car that doesn't look like the one down the block.

Just like chevypride said, you can't buy an American muscle car worrying about mpg. You sound just like me when i purchased my first car. My first was a 1965 impala SS with a 454 and if you're worrying about the expenses, unless the car is completely restored correctly you'll probably be spending a lot of money on not only maintenance but fancying it to your liking. It's a never ending investment.

honestly you don't get a muscle car worrying about mpg, you get it because its a classic with V8 American power, if your worried about mpg then get something newer with a V8 so you still have V8 power and would be a little better on mpg

V8 Chevelles get 12-15 MPG. You might find a 6 cylinder car that would get you about 18.
Best way to increase the MPG is to buy a Civic.

IF you have a steady income. Go for it. if not, DONT because you'll end up falling in love with it and then having to sell it to get something better on gas.
