What kind of key blank does a 2006 Chevy Aveo require?

What is the key blank for this vehicle, and does it have a transponder chip? If so, what kind?

Most newer GM vehicles have the chip. Look at the metal part of the key you will either see a chip or an etched plus sign at the top near the finger pad. You can get new keys with chips from a dealership but they can be pricey and need to be programmed to your car. If you get a blank key made without the chip you can still use it for the doors, just not the ignition.
