So on October 19th I will be walking into a Chevy dealership by myself ( I will be 18) with my checkbook to get my first car in my name (my other car, gas guzzler is in my moms name).
I dont know how to go about this I have already test driven a 2010 chevy equinox so I know thats the car for me.
But I dont know how to negotiate....the price of my car with the accessories and the model that I got comes up to a little over $32K.
How much do you think I can get a salesperson to go down? I will be paying for the car in full so no monthly payments.
If it helps I live in Maryland and I have my Provisional license (they will sell you a car even if you have a learners as long as your 18, my friend got his car when he was 19 and sadly only had a learners)
How much do you think I can get them to come down off the price, I have looked at edmunds but I just needs other advice.

I know that buying a new car is great thing! But with the current ecomonic conditions, I would recommend that you look into a used equinox. A great place to go is carmax. They will have the same car with the games! They make it very easy to trade in your gas guzzler and they will do everything to make you happy. Plus, if you don't like the equinox, they give you five days to return it! You can save a whole lot of money buy buying a used one and have the peace of mind that you bought a good quality car.

how about a 2009 equinox for $10,000 less. here are some used equinox's in MD starting at $12,000. since this is your first car why not practice driving on a used vehicle, that way if you put a ding or dent in it you won't feel so bad. after you've had a chance to drive for a while then go out and get your first new car.

here'e a nice equinox (black lt awd) with under 13,000miles for under $23,000. why not save some real $$$$$

I'd second what Justin said. If you use the internet well, you can find some "new" vehicles at a greatly reduced price. At the place I'm getting my Equinox tonight, they've got an 08 Torrent GLX with 156 actual miles on it. There are similar Equinox deals out there. An 09 Equinox with a few thousand miles, would still have several years of warranty left, and be several thousand less than ordering new.
Outside of that- here are some pointers.
First: Look around as much as possible. New prices vary greatly by location- so go shopping. Start know so that you're ready to buy in October. Send e-mails requesting current out-the-door prices, dealer/manufacturer incentives that are availible, and any options they might add in.
Second: Invoice isn't the real price the dealer paid. There are numerous incentives between manufacturer and dealers for sales volume, and financing volume targets. Dealers sell below invocie all the time and turn a profit.
Third: Don't let them make you feel bad- just tell them that if they can't sell you the vehicle at the price you want, then you understand and you'll keep shopping, and you might stop back if thats the best you find.
Lastly: talk to anyone you know and trust and see who they recommend. If the dealr knows you're connected to a customer they value, you ahve a better chance of not getting jerked around.
Good luck.
