I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe Limited Edition. Black Old body style. I am in need of a new alternator, but do not know the amp for the alternator. There are 100, 120, and 140. Does anyone know which amp is correct for a V8 5.7 liter engine for this year??

You need a 124 Amp for your truck.

Doesn't really matter. Either will work. The 120 and 140 are just upgrades if you need the extra amperage to power other accessories such as a winch or a trailer with lots of lights etc.

They should tell you what you need at the parts store. It is a 5.7, so I would guess either the 120 or 140. I have put an alternator in my K1500 Blazer with a V8 5.7L and I don't remember what amp it was.
